Life is Beautiful!
The movie is very similar to what we've been reading because it shows a lot of the same events. For example in the texts we've read it says that there were gas chambers and Jews who were worked to death which was demonstrated in the movie when the man found all those bones or when they told him about what they do to kids. Another thing that was shown in the movie that was also shown in the articles were when the Germans thought their race was superior and when the Germans banned Jews from certain places like at the party the dad was a waiter at and the girl was saying Aryian children are superior. These examples show that the movie did a great job of displaying the horrible acts of the Germans to the Jews during the Holocaust.
Not only were the actions the same between the movie and articles but also were the emotions. For instance in many of our articles it says that the Jews felt helpless, overworked, tired, and hungry, in the movie all of these feeling were shown by the Jews. For instance when the dad worked for the first time and had to lift very heavy objects in the camp, that showed how Jews were overworked and treated very very poorly. Also, an example between the different perspectives is when the dad decided to approach this situation in a humors way, meaning that he was able to take this horrible event and make the most out of it. Overall this shows that the different perspectives in the movie were great because you really got to see how different people thought, not only that but, it also displays how the Jews felt in the movie like they did in our articles.
Life was shown as beautiful in the movie in a variety of different ways. For example when the dad saw the horse bad mouthing Jews and instead of getting upset he made a joke out of it or when they were in the camp and the dad and son said hello to the mother so she knew they were okay. This shows that they really appreciated their life even though they weren't given such a great end of the stick. Thus, they demonsatrated how life is beautiful in many different ways from humor all the ways to love.
